WELCOME FROM FR. CURT
Immanuel Highlands Episcopal Church welcomes all. We joyfully gather to pray, worship, learn and serve as we seek to follow Jesus. We strive to make this a gracious, nurturing, and inclusive place, and we want everyone to feel at home. We welcome seekers and doubters. We invite all people on a journey of hope and transformation. Whoever you are, wherever you are on your spiritual journey, the members of our Immanuel family hope that your experience here will strengthen and encourage you. Embracing the example of Jesus, our welcome knows no boundaries of race, age, ethnicity, sexual identity, education, socio-economic status, religious background, or physical and mental ability.
We are a diverse church. We’re people of joy and people doing hard things. Worship and outreach are at the center of who we are and what we do – it’s how we connect God to the world around us. Immanuel Highlands Episcopal Church is, at our best, a thriving part of the body of Christ in Wilmington, Delaware. We live out our faith in community. Through word and sacraments we are strengthened to do the things Christ has called us to do: tending to the sick, the poor and the outcast, welcoming the strangers among us, spreading the good news to children, to those we meet and especially to one another. We walk the way of love with action. Worship and outreach are at the center of who we are and what we do – it’s how we connect God to the world around us.
