According to A Dictionary for Episcopalians, “The Vestry is the legal government and decision-making body of a parish church, consisting of the Rector/Priest-in-Charge and elected lay representatives. Its duties include calling the Rector, approving the budget, making policy, and approving expenditures.”
Immanuel’s Vestry currently comprises seven members: Co-wardens, Clerk, and the remainder making up the members-at large. Our Treasurer is not a voting member, but brings financial knowledge and the suggestions of the Finance Committee to inform the Vestry’s financial decisions.
Members in good standing, giving, working, and praying for the Kingdom of God are eligible for election to the Vestry.
