The Vestry and the Search Committee are pleased to announce that we have called the Reverend Wayne Rollins to be our Priest in Charge at Immanuel.
The Rev. Wayne Rollins is a native of West Virginia. He holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Education from West Virginia State College (now University), certified to teach Music K-12. Graduate work in Organ Performance followed at Westminster Choir College in Princeton, New Jersey. He has served as Organist/Choirmaster or Music Director in Presbyterian, United Methodist, Roman Catholic, and Episcopal churches. He lived for a short time near Philadelphia, then in Southern Ohio and West Virginia. Wayne was ordained a Deacon in The United Methodist Church while attending seminary at The Methodist Theological School of Ohio. He returned to The Episcopal Church, and was ordained Deacon and Priest in 2004 in the Diocese of West Virginia. He went on to serve in the Diocese of Maine, then back in Southern Ohio. Wayne’s last cure was as Interim Rector at St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church in Ann Arbor, Michigan, close to the heart of the University of Michigan Central Campus. He is single, with no children and has two brothers—one in West Virginia and the other in Georgia. He is the middle child, and claims all the rights and privileges thereunto appertaining. He likes to cook, read, take walks on quiet trails, and attend musical concerts and theater. Father Wayne began his ministry at Immanuel on November 1. Please join us in welcoming him! |
